Key Budget initiatives

The 2025-26 Budget delivers on our commitments and invests in the services and infrastructure that lay the foundations for WA's future.

This Budget continues our support for families, makes investments to grow our economy and make more things locally, and responds to the needs of our growing population.


Key initiatives include:

  • An additional $963 million in cost of living relief for WA families, including residential battery rebates and no-interest loans, the second round of the WA Student Assistance Payment, $300 KidSport vouchers, the new flat fare for public transport, continuing free student travel and halving Transwa fares, boosting the Regional Pensioner Travel Card, and targeted assistance for those most in need.
  • $1.4 billion to boost housing supply and affordability including to grow the construction workforce, investing in housing enabling infrastructure to unlock a further 33,000 homes, providing stamp duty relief for first home buyers, access to shared equity loans and new modular loan products through Keystart, and boosting regional housing supply.
  • $2.7 billion to support future growth and create WA jobs by diversifying our economy, and delivering on our Made in WA plan by making more things locally.
  • $1.4 billion to expand and enhance health and mental health services including more doctors and nurses, additional investment in infrastructure to unlock more beds, and progressing our election commitments that will enhance our health system.
  • $1.8 billion for education and training investing in our schools and children's education to grow a skilled and productive workforce that will facilitate Western Australia's continued future growth.
